Introduction to Brain-Computer Interface Applications
Project and Research Oriented Course, Qingdao Academy, 2024
Course Description:
How close are we to controlling everything with our “thoughts”? Is the full-dive technology depicted in the anime Sword Art Online achievable in reality? What exactly is Elon Musk’s company, Neuralink, researching? In this class, we’ll explore Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology from a scientific and engineering perspective. Starting with neuroscience, we’ll gradually move on to learn common engineering techniques such as signal processing and machine learning. We’ll collect and process EEG data hands-on, read and discuss the latest advancements in academia and industry, and ultimately aim to create a simple BCI system.
